We wish to share with you a few tips to help you, and your friends and family, be safe through this current turbulent time of viruses striking our world population.

Here are a few VERY simple tips which are VERY powerful (and mostly(!) inexpensive). You can apply them for yourself daily to ensure your immunity stays as strong as possible.

Expose yourself to the early morning sunlight (a minimum of 30 minutes between sunrise and 10 am).

This will provide your body with Near Infrared and UV A and B light – all necessary to help turn on PONC, a brain chemical responsible for creating melatonin and getting it activated at night time. This not only helps your sleep, which is necessary for strong immunity, but strong melatonin levels have been associated with stronger immunity.

Expose yourself to at least 15 minutes of midday sunshine.

The high levels of UVb in the middle of the day will activate Vitamin D to create a stronger immunity. Sunlight is superior to taking Vitamin D supplements, as sunlight will ‘switch on’ the Vitamin D making it bio-available to your body. Vitamin D is a major immune stimulator.

Get plenty of fresh air with active movement outdoors.

This stimulates the absorption of oxygen, another component of healthy blood, lungs and immunity.

If you own a red / near infra red light pad, place it over your chest for 5 to 10 minutes per night.

Red and Near infrared light over the chest will stimulate both the lungs and the thymus gland. Both are needed to be strong for healthy immunity. Additionally there is a major acupoint in the centre of the chest, REN 17, which is the master point for generating more ‘qi’ (energy or vitality). Of course, strong qi equates to strong immunity.

Add a drop of Clove or Oregano oil to either a gargle or on your toothpaste daily.

Clove is the strongest anti-oxidant oil known, de-activating potential harmful pathogens. Oregano is one of the strongest anti-microbial, anti-viral and anti-fungal essential oils. Either of these will quickly diminish any potentially harmful pathogens, especially if you feel a sore throat coming on.

Diffuse a few drops of eucalyptus and/or tea tree oil in your living space.

Alternatively, you can place a few drops of the oils on to a cotton wool ball, place in your bra (if female) or in your top shirt pocket (if male). You can also it place near your bed pillow. Or just inhale the oils regularly throughout the day. Both tea tree and eucalyptus have been shown to have anti-viral properties.

Eat a wholesome diet full of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables. 

Ensure that you avoid excess stress.

Stress is one of the biggest players or causative factors which weaken our immune system. My favourite stress busters are –

  • Avoiding taking on too many tasks
  • Sleep enough
  • Take time to laugh, play and spend time doing things you love with people you love
  • Have an epsom salts (magnesium) bath
  • Have a massage
  • Meditate (even simple breath exercises are fantastic)
  • Use the mind-alive brain entrainment system
  • Or any of these great light therapy systems which directly calm and balance the mind – Sensosphere, Monocrom Dome

Rest assured, if you follow these simple basic tips of advice, your body will thank you for it, your immunity will be strengthened and you will (hopefully) be able to resist any lurking pathogens!
